1 The information we collect and how we use it
Patients
When you register to use the restricted access or the User Forum areas of the website we collect your post code and e-mail address
We gather this information to allow us to respond to your enquiry and set you up on the User Forum. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents and sub-contractors to manage your account and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the hip and knee network in general.
If you wish to register for Score your Joint, we collect further information concerning the extent of your hip or knee pain, and information about your fitness and lifestyle. We gather this to provide an indication of how severe your joint pain is as part of the Score your Joint. As part of this process we also collect information on lifestyle, preferences and expectations. This information is used on an aggregated and anonymous basis only.
Surgeons
When you register to use the Surgeon Zone of the website we need to know your name, position, e-mail address, GMC number and current hospital. You have the opportunity to add more details into your profile if you wish. The registration process describes which parts of this information can be seen by any user, which can be seen by other registered surgeons and which can be seen by surgeons in your network.
We gather this information to allow us to respond to your enquiry and set you up your Surgeon profile. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents and sub-contractors to manage your account and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the hip and knee network in general.
