The complications commonly associated with knee replacement is pain and stiffness in the short term.  You will be given pain relief depending on the protocol within the hospital.  You will also have physiotherapists aiming to get your knee bending as quickly as possible.

Other complications involve infections and deep vein thrombosis.  You will be offered prophylaxis against the risk of deep vein thrombosis.  Both infection and deep vein thrombosis risk is small.
