Consent
At some stage in the pre-operative process your consent will be asked. The consent is usually obtained by the doctor who will be looking after you. At the time of the consent the operation will be covered and the doctor should ensure that the correct side is to be operated on, that you understand the procedure taking place, and that you understand the complications that may occur. Each consultant will have his own views on the complications which are affected by the approach to the hip that he uses.
