Hip Timeline - Pain It is usually pain that will take you to the General Practitioner. Typically hip pain occurs in the groin, radiating down to the knee. Some patients will experience only knee pain. Typically this pain is worse when you are weight-bearing and therefore pain when you are walking is quite common. You may also be aware of some stiffness in the hip and this will manifest itself as having difficulty in getting shoes and socks on or cutting your toe-nails.
